2. Scope

This Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you:

  • visit starpathlearning.com or any sub-domain;
  • create an account or purchase a subscription;
  • use our web or mobile applications;
  • communicate with us by email, chat or social media.

3. Information we collect

  • Account data such as your name, email address, password and learner profiles you create.
  • Payment data such as the last four digits of your card, billing address and Stripe payment tokens (we never see full card numbers).
  • Usage data such as course progress, quiz results, IP address, browser type and device information.
  • Marketing data such as newsletter preferences or survey responses.
  • Support data such as messages, attachments and troubleshooting logs.

4. How we use your information

  • Create and manage your account, deliver curriculum and track progress — contract performance.
  • Process payments, manage subscriptions and invoicing — contract performance and legal obligation.
  • Send service emails (e.g., password resets, renewal notices, policy updates) — legitimate interest.
  • Send optional newsletters or promotions — consent (which you can withdraw at any time).
  • Improve and secure the platform, prevent fraud — legitimate interest.
  • Comply with tax, accounting and other laws — legal obligation.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal data only when necessary:

  • Stripe, Inc. for secure payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant).
  • Cloud hosting and analytics providers (e.g., AWS, Google Analytics) under strict data-protection safeguards.
  • Customer-support tools (e.g., Intercom, Zendesk).
  • Competent authorities when required by law or to defend legal claims.

All service providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

6. International transfers

When personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on approved safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

9. Data retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active and for five years afterward.
  • Payment records are retained for seven years to meet tax and anti-fraud obligations.
  • Analytics logs are retained for 24 months and then aggregated or deleted.

We delete or anonymise data sooner if you exercise your right to erasure, unless legal obligations require us to keep it.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a copy of your data and withdraw consent.

  • EU/UK residents can lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority.
  • California residents can exercise CCPA rights by emailing support@starpathlearning.com.

11. Children's privacy

The platform is intended for parents or guardians. Children under 16 may not create their own accounts. If you believe we have collected a child's data without consent, email support@starpathlearning.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced by email or an in-app banner. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
